William roberts the second = jim carrey in liar liarat the rapper saying he got his name playing football, he never heard of the drug dealer, but there is no record of him playing football.
This is the kind of shyt that sets Ross apart of other rappers that lie or exaggerate. Dude seems to be a habitual liar in general, across the board, not even specifically about the drug kingpin shyt.

I've said it before too but rick ross is most likely a pathological liar.
They lie so much it seems like they believe their own lies.
I've known some people like that and they will never admit something even if you call them out on it they will just make up new lies on the spot to cover it up no matter how outlandish.
Everybody that needs to know the truth already does, he's pleading his case to a blind/apathetic populace...and he'll probably never get that. What's understood doesn't need to be said.
I like a lot of Rick Ross' music to be honest, but it's obviously not something that comes from a real place. Sad that some people can only acknowledge one or the other.

...but Rick should realize as annoying as it is its a blessing too....this fraud cop is using a name you got doing sumthing u now say u are ashamed off...if it wuznt for him bein in the limelight nobody would care about a former drug dealer tryna rehabilitate his name?nobody would give two shyts or want to talk to you or let you in they studio,do sit down interviews with you,don't be naive enuff to think that....u woulda been let outta jail sent back to the streets,possibly not having shyt to do with yourself and no outlet and be forced to go back in the game....its a good chance this vendetta against rick ross and the attention your receiving is what's keeping the REAL Rick Ross hands clean....now u gotta outlet and a mic to get your message out you wouldn't have had if a famous rapper wuznt usin your name.

Rick Ross (the drug dealer) said he spoke to inmates that were under Ross as a CO. They said he was a chump that "ran and told his boss" about every little thing they did. So, nah he wasn't a crooked CO. He was a model employee.
You could say "but he's lying to make Ross (the rapper) look bad"....but out of the two who has a history of lying? This wouldn't even be a topic if the rapper hadn't lied in the first place about where he got the name from.

In the recording industry, you can't just use another artist's name. You have to pay for it or get permission. Street rules are the same. If you take another's name, you have to ask permission.

To me, Ross comes off as one of those dudes that I grown up with who wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face. What's even worse about it is that keeps getting pass after pass without somebody from the industry calling him out on it.
The game needs some sort of checks and balances.
