Bruh, you reading my mind over here. I agree, French's content has really been hurting lately. Its not even about being marketable or lack thereof, at times I wonder why he doesn't even bother TRYING to spit some bars. Doesn't have to be lyrical miracle shyt, just not garbage. His shyt was GOLD around 2010-2012. But things been going downhill since 2014.
He has some good projects like The Appetizer, and songs like Ball Drop and Super Flexing Remix where he really delivers, but other than that he been really lacking. I dont have a problem with them features, cuz he always had the hottest collabs. But why he letting them outshine him in every single song?? This wasn't the case before, dude used to hold his own and his hooks were golden.
