23 percent maple syrup? :ld:

I guess that’s better than straight up corn syrup…

Only true OGs know about this right here... when they started using HFCS as opposed to real cane syrup, it became basura status

This is America we used to it
Yeah. I just switched last year. I still have some aunt jemima, if I’m caught in a bind. It’s worth the upgrade if you’re going out the way to cook up some pancakes or French toast. For eggo frozen waffles, I’d be fine with whatever.

The orange section at the bottom is called candied yams.

They are very sweet and are commonly eaten with fried fish in so-called Black American households, so I’m sure waffles and syrup would fit right in.
You're explaining to me like I don't know what candied yams are :stopitslime: , but that's different tho, you're eating yams as a side dish; fried fish doused in syrup isn't as appetizing.

Fried fish is better when paired with savory dishes; the reason why chicken and waffles work is that chicken maintains its crunch, and flavor balances out the sweetness giving it that sweet and savory vibe.

The reason why Black restaurants don't serve fish and waffles compared to fried chicken and waffles is because the two don't mix well. Maybe you like to just indulge in gluttony, so it all balances out for you, but it's not a good flavor or texture combination because fish gets soggy quickly and sometimes, depending on the kind of fish, can be overly fishy.
