Friend cancelled on our trip, should I still go?

My friend and I were supposed to go to Italy in July. She informed me that she wouldn't be able to go and it's too short of a time for me to ask any other friend. The trip is through contiki so I will be with a group but I have my reservations. I have never traveled alone before and going out the country by myself scares me.
What should I do?
Thankfully I only put down the deposit that I can get back if I cancel but the closer it gets, the less likely I will be able to do that.

Also the same trip is on groupon for literally half the price. Should I cancel the first one and buy that one?
I'm assuming the one on groupon doesn't come with all the tours and dinners but I could be wrong.

I think you should go, If you depend on other people to go on trips with you you'll never go to all the places you want.
