Friends becoming super religious unappreciation thread.

The thing is on the flip side this will be their tale of true faith to the congregation or whoever they come in contact with in their church. -"I lost all my friends as the closer I got to know and love God.. it literally changed my life around for the better. My old associates still wanted me to come around and party and continue to head down the path of destruction... but I said no.. I chose the narrow road to life".

I lost 2 of my best friends because they became Jehovah's Witnesses.

They both grew up in the religion, but then stopped associating with it when I happened to meet them (2 seperate people, not connected to eachother). Then all of a sudden....friend A out of no where decided she was gonna be religious and friend B had a brain tumor and became religious after that.

Friend A I stopped fukking with because she would always tell me that she's not even supposed to be talking to me....and acting like I should be thankful that I get to be in her presence since to her religion, I ain't shyt really. I got tired of her always trying to preach to me, and trying to get me to go to the kingdom hall and we ended up just going our seperate ways.

Friend B found out she had a brain tumor and had surgery. Once she recovered, I guess something spiritual happened to her and she felt like she needed to get back into the religion. She was the complete opposite of friend A tho. We still speak to this day, and she respects my decision to be agnostic. She never makes me feel like she's doing me the favor of being my friend when she's really not supposed to. But, it still isn't the way it used to be. I didn't lose her completely.....but she's different. I don't know if it's because of the religion or the brain tumor tho.

First off let me just say I don't have have any problems with a person devoting themselves to something like religion.
I think it's great if it helps you become a better person but that shyt can come off annoying as fukk sometimes.

I think the reason why it's bothering me is because she use to be cool as shyt back in the day just real chill use to smoke drink but still had her morals and integrity now she just seems crazy as fukk.

What's worse is the ones that were dope ass people before they put that religious facade on, and you see lil glimpses of their old selves and you're like and then they realize they doing it and shut that shyt down real quick.

I got friends like that.. I'm a smart dude when I comes to religion and always shut them down. The main thing is that they found something new and refreshing to hold on to and they feel the need to push it on somebody else.

Interesting, because I was raised a JW since childhood and left some years back. One thing I can't stand about them is the notion that only fellow worshipers are your true friends and everybody on the outside are what they call "worldly people" that you shouldn't mix with because they don't have a love for "Jehovah" (god).

Before I left I told the elders there that I think it's an ignorant way to look at things because any decent person should be considered a friend, and what about the so called "brothers and sisters" in the kingdom hall who don't even like you anyway? Most other religions have friends of different faiths and they seem to get on just fine. JWs are incredibly prejudiced and biased towards people on the outside.

That's just one of the many issues I have with the JWs and definitely I made the right choice to get out.

This is one of the many reasons why I disregard religion altogether.....too much manipulation and mind control based off of interpretation of scripture. I consider myself a SPIRITUAL person.

One thing that's great about being in excellent shape is that stupid fatties can't tell me JACK SH!T about how to live a better life. That cuts out like a good 75% of people (80-90% of religious Black women) that I'm ever bothered to take seriously when it comes to life advice, period.

my story is short. i know 4 people. 2 chicks 2 dudes. the dudes are my best friends. best friend A got burned by a chick in ATL and yours truly took him to the clinic. he thought he gave it to his old lady and got scared into religion, and the other male best friend followed. they used to fukk a good amount of chicks man...

chick A showed traits of being an undercover reformed hoe. lost touch and then she turned into a super jesus freak. fine, but her brain ain't all there.

chick B basically told me that she was wild and crazy. used to sell pills in college etc etc. talking bout she dont like sex but then the last time she had sex was a month prior. then she got mad when i tried to fukk and we lost touch and now she's all into church. lmao. i'd still fukk her one time if the chance arose though believe that shyt nikka.
