Jay was a top artist, y’all got a stop with this. Just because there was another act that may have had a bigger year in each of his active years doesn’t refute the fact that upon Vol 2, Jay was a superstar and one of the HNIC’s of rap. Sure X or Nelly or 50 may have had a bigger year, but throughout all of them Jay was there putting up consistent big dawg numbers and singles. Jay dropped an album a year basically from 98-03 and I don’t know anyone who wasn’t hyped for each release
