He no longer has 4 shooters around him to space the floor, if anything, this says a lot about Stan Van Gundy and his ability to hide all these glaring faults with Dwights game.
Without the shooters Dwight isn't even close to being effective, there's literally no gap between him and M. Gasol/Lopez/Noah right now.

he was an athletic freak that could dominate the game on defense and rebounding but had no post-game and thus no offense
now that he's no longer an athletic freak cause of the back injury we're seeing his glaring weaknesses

so there weren't people who not long ago wouldve taken dwight howard (after lebron) to build a team around?

Turns out he was nothing more than a big fish in a small pond. With the lack of quality centers a few years ago people got gassed and put him in the top 5 overall player rankings.
His post game is garbage and he's a walking foul waiting to happen. The injuries to his back have made a 3rd tier type player from here on.
He will get his money because the center position is still trash but he really isn't that fundamentally sound and with his back going bad I see nothing but a downward spiral from here on.
I hope he and the Lakers get a deal done though so he can cripple their franchise for the next 6 years.
