he never was the 2nd best player in the league, and as long as he is the best player on a team , that team goes nowhere.

He no longer has 4 shooters around him to space the floor, if anything, this says a lot about Stan Van Gundy and his ability to hide all these glaring faults with Dwights game.

Without the shooters Dwight isn't even close to being effective, there's literally no gap between him and M. Gasol/Lopez/Noah right now.

Stan has eluded to saying such things in the past. That's why he be never tripped on his team shooting 30 threes a night. I remember him saying that he has no true post presence and saying that the 3 point shot has a higher percentage of falling than then the mid range jumper and that's why he encouraged so many 3s

Dwight is just not balling up to his level of standards and it' gotta be because of his back not being fully healed. At this point you gotta wonder if he'll ever get back to his previous level. He may have not been the second best player in the league. But he was definitely top five.

...because he's being exposed as a bytch.

People already SUSPECTED he was a bytch when he was with Orlando.

But his actions now in Lakerland only confirm it.

Dude is arguably the softest big man of the modern era.....even Big Country would've given Dwight that work, he was infinitely tougher than Dwight.

Seriously....if you're a fan of a given team, why would you want this nikka on your squad next year? Give me one redeeming quality this guy has which would warrant your team trading for or signing him?

The back doesn't explain why he keeps getting stripped though and how his hands are so awful now.

In addition to your earlier post (about Van Gundy hiding his deficiencies, which I ALSO agree with), this is an excellent point.

And again, it goes back to him being UBER PILLOWY in demeanor. A huge power post player shouldn't be gettin' stripped by guards and whatnot, dude is entirely too sugary for the NBA. You'll NEVER be able to build a team around that fakkit.

Not even remotely sure why Mitch would want to keep that dude. They already got soft ass Pau, but at least HE shows up in important games and has already helped them win a ring. Dwight ain't done shyt.

I wouldn't give that nikka shyt in free agency, and I damn sure wouldn't want him back if I was the Lakers.

Great point, he could be pressing now and forcing the issue when there's no room to operate since he's so concerned about touches.

I don't even think its an issue of touches, but what he does with the touches he gets. Outside of muscling players around, he has nothing to offer in the post so he's thinking, "I'm getting no touches" while everyone is thinking, "when he touches the ball he's ineffective."

And the more I see him play, the more I think there's no way he should be a franchise player. What's the point of a franchise player that you can't even really play in the clutch? 1/6 from the ft line last night.

cue the revisionist history... fact of the matter is, most people considered him the 3rd best player in the league behind Durant and Bron as recently as last season and he was viewed as arguably being the most valuable to his team, ESPECIALLY 2 years back when Rose won MVP

Unless they are all laying on top of each other, then there literally has to be a gap between them right now.
