So, updating.

They reached out (whatever the hell this means) to Donald Sloan.

Still have $19.7 mil to spend to reach the floor and two potential open spots in the starting lineup

C Towns
PF @Tony_Bromo
SF Wiggins
SG @Nicky Barnes
PG Rubio

Low key we got a core. High key nobody seems to give a shyt

Seems more like they're unwilling to give anyone a 4 year deal. Makes sense for the long run but not if they're trying to make the playoffs next year

I'm not upset that they missed out on any particular guy. I do think they were unprepared for what was gonna happen this summer. In turn, they haven't addressed any major needs.

The bigger disappointment is that for all the talk about how promising this team is, it seems like they're gonna have to do this without anyone's help and that's gonna be hard to do.

Should have signed Deng imo

Can play two positions, solid D, ok enough shooter, system familiarity

Can basically be inserted into any lineup you have seamlessly

For 18 mill a year? I don't know about that especially with Pek's contract still there and then in 2 years you gotta pay Zach and Wiggins. Not mentioning possible extensions for Bazz and Gorgui.

No offense, but what else are yall ever gonna do with capspace other than bring back RFA when the time comes

I think that may be their plan just so they can avoid the tax.

It's super risky and perhaps foolish because I wouldn't pay Dieng $90 mil the same way I wouldn't pay Luol Deng $72. That said, Thibs has no idea what to really do with this roster. He owes it to everyone to play a season with what he has and then re-evaluate this.

In the meantime, at least address shooting since that was supposedly Thibs' biggest gripe and he sure as hell didn't address it during the draft.

The contract itself isn't bad. Just like acquiring Tyus though, it's corny as fukk because I'm sure the biggest appeal Aldrich had was that he's a local.

Besides that, I guess it means Dieng's our PF and Pek is one step closer to either being waived or medically retired. They shouldn't repeat the mistake they made with Martin and stretch him. He'll be off the books after next year when they'll need the money

Get Ian Clark, sign one more stretch big with promise and call it a day.

I don't hate that signing. Dude can legit play and was better than someone like Mozgov last year. You can play him with Bjelica in the 2nd unit. Both post guys will be good passers in that unit.
