Love Trae but id put his ass on the trading block & see what we can get back & build around Jalen
What would you want? A true PG? Back up Big? Another swing?
:lupe:
Honestly, if the Hawks want to win this season, Jrue and Clingan for Trae. You get a floor general and Daniels can get back to the 2 and create havoc. Clingan is young and rebounds. Probably second unit but maybe develops into something.

Trae is toxic. What realistic team would want him and is contract. Plus that team would be expected to sign him to a max deal. It would be the dregs of the league.

What would you want from Brooklyn? New Orleans? Hornets? DC? All those teams would have to nearly match salary as well.

Hawks are set at 2, 3, and 4. So you are looking for a point and center. Honestly the five is looking good too and I’m not talking about the broken European. If you want a point, name a starting point you can realistically get.

Hornets finally ready to move off Ball? You think you can get Coby White for Trae? Celtics willing to give up White for Trae? Herro for Trae? Out West, I doubt Ainge would want him, they don’t have a point to trade anyway. Mavs aren’t giving up Kyrie. Pelicans don’t have a point nor their pick. It’s bare out here.

There is no market for a small non shooting point guard who wants 60M a season. At least Brunson can shoot a high percentage.

You start this with Trae is toxic lol. Get that bird babble outta here.:camby:

You just listed 3 down grades at PG. None of those point guards make us a contender. Just let the season play out, Trae will reintegrate just fine.

And if it comes down to it, the market will dictate his worth. Why tf would we want coby white or some shyt like that:heh:

I’m sorry. When I say toxic, I mean his style of play can rub teammates the wrong way and isn’t conducive to winning. He seems to need the ball in his hands. Won’t move without it. Now many heliocentric players (Harden, Luka, Bron) do the exact same thing. Those players win and score at a high percentage.

Imagine you balling, you come set up screen after screen. Your PG only dishes you the rock for a guaranteed assist. At the same time, he’s shooting the rock 18 times a game and making 6-7 shots. It’s like playing with :aicmon: or :childplease:

Sure you can sit and wait. The East is as wide open as ever right NOW. Hawks as is could run it up to the eastern conference finals. Why not take the shot now and go all in.
:manny:
Going all in would be getting rid of the ball stopper now. When Trae gets back and they start playing .500 ball or worse, would you then consider a trade?
:patrice:
Honestly, it would be nice if Trae digs in, keeps the ball moving, and cut his three point shot down. They can make a run with him.

The real issue is if he picks up his option next year, what does that next contract look like? Do you really want to pay him 229 over four years? If they make an eastern conference run with him, I’d say sure why not. First or even second round exit

Okay last year as collective we shot horrendous. We added a ton of 3pt shooting this off-season.

The first couple of games guys were resting between games like NAW, Jalen, and KP.

These last few games outside of Phoenix we been beating up on bad teams. Vit and onyeka are shooting lights out with 8+ 3s in multiple games each.

Let's not sip the kool aid just yet after a 5 game streak. Our next 22 out of 27 games are against teams above .500. We will see what this team is capable of without Trae during this stretch.

Trae looked completely bought in to start the season. Getting steals and taking charges in the post. Limiting shot attempts. If this team keeps up this shooting when he comes back, all those wasted potential assists from last year will be a thing of the past.:manny:

Respect. Wait and see it is. I have to catch some games while Trae is out with against the good teams.

I’m looking up games for January and February to attend and the schedule is trash. You should look it up.
:scust:
It makes for cheap tickets though.
:manny:
I’ll probably go to the Rockets game on January 29th. They play the Bucks at home twice as well. Knicks towards the end of the regular season. The rest of them games.

:why:
All the examples of toxic players, GM’s, coaches, refs, owners, media talking heads we have?! Trae has been one of the LEAST toxic individuals in the entire league.

:why:
Plus you want to trade him for a senior citizen and yet ANOTHER young big that will have to Kumite the rest of the locker room for minutes?!

There’s no quick fix move that will get us a ring this season. Let this season play out, because every move that’s been made this past offseason was made with 26-27 in mind.

I know our fan base is traumatized, but we have to let the kneejerk stuff go along with the the GM’s and coaches we fired for good reason.

In Onsi we trust!

You are right about the schedule after December. We have 4th easiest schedule out of all teams.

It really lightens up the rest of the way after the next 26 games.

We either stay hot or hover around .500 until Trae comes back. After that I expect us to go on a run
