Its a shame how algebra has had 3 serious fights with two of those being losses and hasnt taken a tune up fight. Looks like he is heading towards gatekeeper status. :francis:

Anyway lets go Spence:myman:
This is it for me. For Algieri's career I think taking an easier fight where he was supposed to win would have been better for him. I don't see the benefit of taking on the hottest prospect in that division when he hasn't has a lot of success (wins) against top fighters. That said, props to Algieri, he never ducked anyone.

I think it will be a coming out party for Spence and he is the first to stop Algieri. Would love to see Algieri stand strong and push Spence for 12 rounds.

Algieri turned the fight down at first... Spence was gonna fight Ch:mjlol:ves but he was too fat N wouldn't be ready in time...then PBC offered more $$$ to Algieri :yeshrug:

PBC doesn't punish guys for losing so Algieri will be aiight for a while

I just think it is an interesting choice for Algieri being the stepping stone for their next star they are trying to build. Maybe he is getting really good money and Algieri has fought great recent competition so he isn't one to back down.

Maybe I am just overthinking it and he just wants money/competition. Dude was competitive vs. Ruslan and Khan, he could easily build himself back up into a fight of that caliber again, but he has to win vs. C class competition. If I was him I wouldn't step in against Spence, but that is because I think Spence will be a tough night and a KO is probable. At least we can say Algieri isn't hiding out.
