That shyt is crazy, huh? Once it clicks, it's like :whew:
Yep yep.

Can’t count how many times I’ve been stuck on something forever making no progress, go to sleep and even dream code sometimes, only to wake up fresh out of bed like “wait wtf I can just do xyz” and solve the problem in a matter of minutes. :mjlol:

Breh I was literally telling somebody the same thing yesterday! I had a problem the other day that was killing me for half of the afternoon into the evening. Had me ready to punch my monitor. I went home and didn't even think about it. Woke up and started back on it the next day and figured it out in 3 minutes.

Coding for hours is almost like driving for a long time. Sometimes you need a break before you start seeing shyt that's not really there. :heh:

The best thing you can do for any programming language is skip class, and make your own shyt.
You'll learn more trying to make something cool and googling how it works than reading a book in class

The way programing is taught is in schools is the way American schools teach foreign languages.

And we wonder why we have people who have taken spanish/italian/french for 5 years and cant carry a conversation.

:dead: man your analogies when talking about IT are gold

I think its the exact opposite tbh.

The clean, crisp, way of writing might apply to proper syntax but that's where it stops.
When I learned Java and C++ in school here's what we did not learn:

- We did not learn how to properly debug and proper tools
- We did not read any programming whitepapers
- We did not learn how to properly pseudo or how any whiteboard skills
- We did not learn how to work with milestones

You have to keep in mind that most professors have been in academia for years and years and have no real functional understanding of how a developer actually works in the real world.

You will have a greater understanding of the job of a developer by talking to, collaborating with, and exchanging with people who are actually in the field.

I can go into more detail but I'm very against how programming is taught in school.
I think its utter shyt to be honest
Which is why getting internships is vital...thats when it clicked for me..more real world applicability

I feel you breh. I dropped it a few years back and now I’m taking Java. I like it better but I’ll have to learn c++ eventually.

Took a final In my programming class this morning waiting on the grade . Our Computer science department teaches Java tho and it hasn't been that bad so far. About to spend all Winter Break on videos to hopefully be ahead of the second semester class and then This summer I want to learn C++
C++ Tutorial for Complete Beginners by cave programming has been an amazing refresher for my exam.

Have fun learning it, though. Since you've done java, it shouldn't be that hard to get.

All languages are the same and learning the syntax will come as you work on your project.

Focus on what you're trying to build and the rest will follow. :obama:

No eye on the big picture. No eye on the purpose. No real wisdom.

Just going through the motions. This is why most people hate math.

They are not trying to create, they're just memorizing equations without knowing what they're used for.

Our school system is a joke. There's no learning involved.

It's like that sometimes lol

Hopefully that small error made you so mad that you never make that mistake again

At least that's how it's supposed to work
