The “oh you just want things to go back to only men” comments are so fukking stupid :pachaha:

People act like bad 80/90s action movies with men didn’t get shyt on too:mindblown:

The issue is this very corporate feminism/diversity wave is giving us a lot of uninspired garbage :camby:

:comeon:Y'all do know this came STRAIGHT from the comics, right? Know your fukking canon before bytching about what "the agenda" did to co-opt it.

What issue is infinity gauntlet did this happen in? I haven’t read it in a little while but I have the mini series in a short box at the crib because I don’t remember this happening. If i’m wrong my bad but this scene did seemed forced.

Why doesn't this logic apply to Bruce Lee who was 5'8? Yes he was a martial arts expert, but if you're statement is strictly judging a character's ability to fight by their weight class. Why are Keanu Reeves and Statham given the benefit of the doubt. These dudes don't even have muscles, yet y'all will accept that they can kick anyone's ass.

The funny thing is I was literally thinking about how silly Halle Berry looks flipping 200 pound dudes on their back in John Wick. You need a lot of upper body strength for that. It doesn't look believable. The logic applies depending on how the movie deals with it, but generally women are smaller with weaker bones so having them beat the crap out of big guys effortlessly takes me out of the movie. You're right in that sometimes we're also given male actors who would probably get decked with ease.

I have nothing against a female lead, infact I'd rather watch an attractive, decent actress for 2 hours than Tom Cruise or whoever else people are supposed to like. Action movies are tough for women. It can be believable when the chick uses her brain to overpower her opponents, or uses guns or technology but not when its her scrawny girl arms saving the world. And lets face it, its always a beautiful, slim, woman in these roles and not a Ronda Rousey type.

Bruce Lee was celebrated as an amazing martial artist and physical specimen, and his thing was always about having superior technique to his opponents. Not everything comes down to weight class. Michelle Yeoh is a great example of a female action star actually, because she actually knows her shyt and what she does looks believable. Shame theres not more like her.

that because that femme fatale team up shyt never "happened' in any of the stores involving Thanos or the infinity stones people say it "happened' is reference to a shytty all female team up comic" A-Force" that just came out 3 years ago to guess what?....... capitalize of the strong powerful female agenda push in its creation in the first place

a bunch of characters teaming up with nothing common other than having a vagina:francis:

and don't get me wrong i got no problem with strong and prominent female character I when people were shytting on Captain Marvel I'm the first to say it's was no worse than Thor's first two films that didn't get half the hate hell it's arguably better, will be in the theater first day if trailer's for Black Widow give me Mission impossible vibes, hopes Storm get full co leadership role with Cyclopes of the x men when marvel reboots

as 80's baby and 90's kid i was a bigger fan of Ellen Ripley/Sigourney Weaver then Dutch/Arnold Schwarzenegger i would choose Xena over Hercules in a heartbeat loved Buffy and Angel equally .....loved Kill Bill and The Bride/Beatrix Kiddo character think Underworld and Resident Evil are no worse c level action franchises than Jason Statham's shyt like Transporter/Crank

i was wishing Scarlet Witch would have ripped one of Thanos' arm out of the socket but that girl power team up scene was so cringe and stuck out like a sore thumb and agenda driven like a motherfukker

That scene could also be a reference to fearless defenders, but it's the same damn boat with a different coat of paint to be honest.

Never read A-Force saw it in the comic book store and though it looked like trash but the only team I remember going against Thanos with carol Danvers as captain marvel was at the beginning of civil war 2 where war machine dies. Jesus that was a shytty event.

I'm sorry but as a woman it's just as ridiculous for me to believe that Keanu Reeves can kick a bunch of trained muscle dudes as Halle Berry. It's all fantasy to me. The only difference is y'all don't create threads bytching about a 45 year old flabby dude kicking bigger and younger dudes' asses cause you want to believe in that fantasy. When we talk about pandering, that is just as flagrant to me as a woman doing it.

It is funny watching Liam Neeson actually struggle to run in one movie then watching Taken where he's taking down Euro hitmen :russ:

First we'll get the genderfluid racially ambiguous hero

And his power is to spread HIV lol...

Anyway....strong female heroes have always been around, but they didn't have to insult the intelligence of the audience to prove a point in such a cheesy way....

Prime example is Ellen Ripley, she gets busy and her gender doesn't even get mentioned due her being a well-written character and coming from a better age of Hollywood films....but I digress..

Yeah I already said I basically agree with you on that point. It just depends on how a specific movie does it, Like Ripley in Alien you can believe because she outsmarts the monster, Indiana Jones you can believe because he outsmarts the bigger guys he fights.

In terms of John Wick, Halle Berry and Keanu are both not in their prime physical condition, but Halle is short and female, Keanu is in good shape and actually knows martial arts so he looks more authentic in action sequences. Theres degrees of fantasy there. Suspension of disbelief, its about where you draw the line. Either something takes you out of the movie or it doesn't.

Jason Statham is actually pretty cut tho. Plus he was a action stuntmen before doing action movies. Very bad example.
