smh. that the 2nd one as well as cartoons and cereal didnt make the album is an executive producer fail. whoever exec produced that isht didnt care about kendricks legacy, cause those are 2 great songs, as great as the album was, it was heavy and very bleak. it dont really have any songs u can just bump.[/quote

They couldn't get clearance for cartoon and cereal. He said he had special plans for that track but its all gone a bit quite on that front.

I put that and the heart pt 3 on my version they both slap, hard.

You can bump maad city and money trees as stand alone bangers, if that's what your looking for.

you stressed the most generic selling points possible.

either youre a paid poster or you sipped the Kool-Aid and fell for the propaganda.

You fell for internet propaganda against Kendrick. Created by fukk boys who are mad someone who rhymes about real shyt blew up and its not their favorite artist.

So they must have been planted by the industry.. because hes makin magazine appearances while no one cares about Atmosphere

I think the impact GKMC had was to recalibrate the standard of good music. At a particular time, everyone was just doing whatever the fukk they wanted but after that album, people are a whole lot more critical of music and originality and content etc. Its particularly true for all the "new artists". So while Yeezus and MCHG had little impact because they did not match their earlier works, all other new artists are being so critically scrutinised because nothing has lived up to that standard yet and people dont care MUCH about those artists. J cole, Asap Rocky, Hopsin, Krit are probably the best examples of rappers who without Kendrick's blitz of a year period (not just GKMC) would have been huge drake like superstars but arent.

with that said, I'm getting old but gkmc is probably one of my favorite albums of the 2000s

I noticed that too. Now cats have to step their game up and not settle for that ratchet 808s snare club beats anymore.

I really have trouble with Kendrick's flow. His lyrics are dope but I never fell like listening to him cause he sounds so soft and whiny. But I'm old school too. You used to have to sound hard on a record or you would get clowned. I guess that's why I can't get with it.

I'm also a NY east coast rap head. I would guess Kendrick's biggest fans are west coast cats more than the east.

But I do really respect him though. Lyrics are complex and well thought out. And the joints where his voice doesn't sound like a 9 year old I can definitely fukk with like "The Heart Pt II" "Hilpower" or "Sherane".

Bottom line is that it's classic whether I like K.dot or not. Way too much acclaim. And the Wu second CD or GZE first didn't really have any many mainstream radio hits that you could blast while cruising 2 miles an hour but those are both definitely classics.

Is what it is. :manny:

you one of THEM type of nikkas. You want Canibus Lyrics on LOX street cred with Busta Rhymes hype along with Jigga's swag :troll:

There is no such thing as the perfect MC. GKMC is a classic cause of near limitless replayability. He made other rappers step their game up and gave demand for people to look for talented MCs again.
