I rather disagree with this though homie. Gamers have very varied tastes and preferences, let lone time schedules for what games they may or may not be playing. Some cats gaming highlights are the CODs, Maddens, Marios, Halos, GTA's, some others SFIV, Mahvel, DKC, Spelunky, etc. I mean, whatever game you may choose to play whenever you choose to play them would most likely be your highlight at that moment, am I right?
Thanks for proving that this thread is ridiculous:myman:

I'm very distinctly not pulling out any game for comparison. I really don't have to. You're also talking about 3 completely different categories. Indie, Wii U and then not new games. Those three things aren't the same are they? Even Rayman has already been a heavily discounted game so that's basically bargain bin (which says nothing of it's quality). You also don't dictate rules about what games can be talked about in conjunction with other games :jawalrus:

I can in my thread:birdman:

If you wanna make a "PC gaming is so good due to the countless games I don't have time to play" thread then go right ahead:camby:

Had a ps3 and wii as well.

And yes strider and Rayman are two highlights RIGHT NOW. I'm sure there's some obscure indie or wii u game you can pull out of your backlog that makes you feel better. But as I said in the op, those games belong in bargain bins, not in conversations about new games.

And the fact that you don't have a Xbox one tells me you are missing out on a ton:mjpls:

See how silly an assertion that is^^^^^^^^^

Kodie is not immune to the pitfalls of the fanboy :wow:

Somewhat ironic that Rayman is in your highlight of now, considering your current argument and usual standpoint. Otherwise, I see what you're trying to say here.

I disagree. One of the of the reasons cats like us have extensive backlogs is due to having enough money to buy more games at a time than we have the time to afford to play them.

This...nothing like waking up Sunday morning and knowing that if I'm feeling lazy for a day, I can open up a brand new joint and see how I feel about it. Plus I don't trust instant feedback on games any more, a game gets hyped up for a week or two and then all of a sudden the criticisms fly. So I really only cop two or three games on the day they drop, but my collection is thorough. Also, I consider it backlog when I take a break from a game because it gets tedious or boring but I don't want to miss 100% completion...I rarely play all the way through a game without starting something from a different genre just to keep from getting bored with one style of play.

Edit: plus I'm an rpg head...which means my favorite joints require A LOT of time.

Yeah, I'm similar to that way as well, though I do buy quite a bit of games day 1 still, like at least 12 or so a year. I buy/dl/acquire/etc. like 3-5 games a month. Among those, it's usually at least 1 that's a day 1 purchase, though it doesn't always have to be at full retail price, due to discounts and shyt.

I really don't see a problem with having a backlog. You shouldn't have time to play everything that interests you unless you're still in high school or some shyt and have hours of free time every day.

There's nothing wrong with having one. The problem is when people run into a thread about a new game to talk about how their backlog is preventing them from buying/playing the new game

I'm at 2-3 purchases a month, but almost none are day one if you cut out the HD-Remakes that I copped knowing I love those games. I've bought some games that are hype for full price are damn near full price just a month or two after they came out though (Dragon's Crown for example), so if you were to add those to my list I'd probably get to double digits. I'm like a jaded gamer though, I expect new games to require a patch within a month. I've bought a lot of games where I play for a couple of hours then toss it in the bushes bc I'm just not feeling it, which is easier to do when you got it for 20-30 bones. I can take more risks at that price than at 60. (But I already paid for South Park and FFX-HD as an example of my RPG obsession).

Well this is what happens when you try to dictate to people what they should and should not buy. Your thread wasn't "Strider is great guys", your thread was "you should buy strider or you're doing it wrong". You invited those types of posts.

That's one thread, and a joke at that. Obviously Rayman isn't a new game. Just having fun out chea bruh. But lets not pretrndcthatvin almost every thread about a new game, we get someone coming in talking about their backlog

You right, that shyt does happen. I honestly think that says a lot more about the state of gaming. We are currently in a heavy over-saturation of good games. That's why we see games like Rayman get discounted quickly which is in turn why gamers are much more willing to wait for discounted prices. *Shrug* it's a buyer's market and a good time to be a gamer.
