Yeah but what i was saying is these mfs aren't going to change shyt. The most i think they'll do is make min wage $9/hr. So if you are able to... try to level up

also there are low/no skilled jobs paying mfs 15/hr... i know for a fact Target is.

and right now is the perfect time to level up all these jobs looking for employees and even offering hiring bonuses. ive never seen so many now hiring signs in my life

:picard: and it still isnt enough if rents & food and housing costs keep increasing you can work 60 hours a week and barely survive...

You get paid what your skill is worth, that's the way the world has always worked.:hubie: Not to mention some people are willing to take a lessor wage just to get a job. I will agree, that wages have been stagnant and not keeping up with living costs.

Now I genuine question for y'all, what Countries can you make minimum wage and still pay all the bills??:jbhmm:

Deflection… why does any other country have to be compared to our systems we have in place? Does any other country exploit their own people for trying to get an higher education the way we do? :jbhmm:

If you wanna be technical, a lot of developed countries have a healthcare and welfare systems that offsets the cost of living if you’re minimum wage worker but again …nothing to do with the US.

“Skills” are arguably subjective as 4 year degrees are becoming more and more worthless by the year, which is something that is encouraged and taught in early grade school.

Now if you wanna argue that only people with eligible trades & experience should be afforded rentals and housing then say that.

We're talking about minimum wage and why you can't live anywhere. When has Minimum wage been a livable standard in the U.S. or any Country for that matter? I'm talking rent, utilities, and food. The bare essentials. Let's keep healthcare and welfare out of this discussion because most poor folks don't even have healthcare and don't even qualify for welfare because they already have jobs working 60hrs/wk. A question I asked earlier was, "has minimum wage ever been able to pay all the bills no matter where you go?" The fact that there's no Country where minimum wage can pay all the bare essentials should tell you something. It's never been classified as a livable wage.

You'd be better off naming countries where minimum wage could pay all the bills to at least have something point out and how it's being done. Only then will people understand

Not just housing but priced regulated housing...:ld:
At the bolded part - Not so much that. As I stated the problem in the US (and the UK, where I live) is that there's a housing shortage. Just building more housing will regulate the prices via the market for the most part.

I also think Georgism (land value tax) would greatly help in this economic situation.

Imagine telling someone who work 40+ hours a week at any job that he should not be able to afford a apartment because it’s minimum wage. So a person who is unable to gain “skills” like a special needs person or disabled person doesn’t deserve to be able to afford their own place? Or a young adult who’s working their way up towards independence? convinced a lot of you dudes are evil or on crack with these sus ass takes.
many people are classist
I used to work a minimum wage job.

Good luck to those who are, but in most scenarios more money only comes from making moves
easier said than done
so many people's lives are affected by things out of their control they have to go at their own pace
what might have only take a short period for you might have to take a decade for someone else
this is why I try not to judge someone late to anything
I don't know what happened in their life

When has earning more money ever come easy? Especially for black folks.

I do my best to not try judging people, but what are these people doing? What have they done to improve themselves and get out of that ditch? Have they tried going to Community College part time? Have they applied to local trade schools? If you are physically and mentally healthy there is absolutely nothing holding you back from earning more money.

They can either continue to make excuses or do something about it breh.

Hes a fakkit tho. You work the hours you need to work to support your lifestyle/goals. Everyone in different positions. Some people working 70 hours a week and some 25. Generic advice like that is always flawed.
Nah, that’s what his advice includes. He says you should be working 60+ hours a week if you’re financially behind in life and can’t support yourself at your current level, which is the same thing you’re saying.
