Yup

According to Biggs, and others that were around The Roc at the time, Dame didn’t believe in Ye either, and only signed him to keep his beats at the label. Biggs was the one that worked the College Dropout album from the start.
dame said it himself while biggs was locked up. had the free biggs shirt. soon as biggs came home he linked back up with jay though

Yeah, I remember Dame throwing shots at Kanye in interviews for not holding Biggs down when he was locked up.

Biggs also said he felt hurt after he got out, and saw Kanye at an event, and Ye acted like he didn’t even know him.

The same way I just made this Freschetta brick oven pizza. It was already what it is without me...but it wasn't ready to be eaten until I put it in the oven. Jay-z and Kanye were just frozen pizzas champ, Dame came and put them nikkas in the oven and got em hot and ready to be served to the masses.

How did he make them out, Dame don't make beats or write rhymes, he had nothing to do with the music lmao

Kanye put himself on, he paid for his own video for that Through the Wire and a released paper, and after it was popping dame showed up to support lmao, he never believed in kanye he wanted camrom and state property to rap on every song on his album, he stated this himself lmao

Dame was cut loose because he was dead weight, why keep paying somebody who's not needed

If what you said was true, why are Jay-Z and Kaney still A list celebrities, and Dame is irrelevant

Without Biggs, there'd be no video for In My Lifetime. Without that video, there'd probably be no Reasonable Doubt.

How may bars Biggs had on that song, what beats he make

anybody who invested could've been biggs lmao, if not him the would found somebody else to put up some money\

stop giving these dudes all this damn credit, they aren't the one's who are special that's why they aren't the superstars

Def Jam basically had to create a persona for Jay. No lie there

when did this happen. Def Jam had nothing to do with anything creative of Rocafella lmao, lmao jay came into rap with a persona already from reasonable doubt which was before def jam, he been the same jay ever since lmao

Because he was there for the start of things with Run DMC, Beasties, Def Jam etc they are gonna be legends that defend him.
His practicies one could argue are still that of a vulture who sucks art*tst dry. Some will say hes a motivator (Challenging DMX to drop a second album 6 months later) others will say he was like a plantation owner

Is what it is

History will be kind to dame and with time he’ll get praised and honored :

Jay been tryna get on from the eighties even was big daddy Kane’s hype men, ain’t get hot till linked with dame

Camron was dead in the water at epic or whatever label he was on had to go back to trappin got a rare second chance and got even bigger once he linked up with dame

Ye been on the scene grinding since mid 90’s producing, ghost producing and ain’t get hot until he linked with dame.

Curren$y went through no limit , cash money , young money and he ain’t hit his stride and become an underground stoner legend till he linked up with dame (that skibeats link)

Streets is watching was genius , paid in full was genius, paper soldiers and state property was lit.

Despite dame’s “shytty” attitude which makes him who he is dame is a visionary and always invested in ideas and brehs, got mens to be A&R’s fresh out jail.

:salute:

Jay wasn't messing with Kanye and never really has when it wasn't beneficial to his own career.

Dame believed in him as a Dr. Dre style producer rapper to make basically a Rocafella version of "The Chronic" with Ye & guests.

Biggs was the one who believed in him as a complete solo artist and shopped him around, independently promoted Through The Wire and was the main executive produced College Dropout with his brother Hip-Hop helping out also.

Dame saw that Biggs believed in him as a solo artist and went full fledge behind him.

So yeah, basically Ye is a product of his own hard work and the Rocafella Harlem Connection pushing and molding him.
