Reading Facebook comments about this shyt is pretty disgusting.
Folks really dont care if rappers write their own shyt...folks really dont care if a rapper just straight up takes someones elses style...folks really dont care if a rapper lies about 100% of the shyt he talks about...folks really dont care if all the rapper talks about is guns and killing

The music is gone.
I better not hear one more person complain about "Culture Vulture", or complain about the next famous white rapper.

We did it to ourselves

Indeed. :scust:

Right. Drake makes great music, but in terms of him being an MC, that discussion is over. Because now it's going to be a question of who wrote what, and how much did he write? That's a situation a rapper NEVER wants to be in. How do you get yourself out of that? Look at Eminem. People don't like his newer music for a number of reasons, and he'd probably to some degree he'd brush it off... but I bet you anything, if you questioned whether it's him behind the pen or not, you'd wake up a bear. That's how serious this is.

Mainstream listeners don't care about the culture to the extent we do, so they only want the end result. This is why I've always placed the blame on the consumers and not the creators. Because if we still believed in the old traditional way of doing things, we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now. But here we are.

Excellent post

Drake fans is p*ssy. Funkmaster Flex brought aggressive content to the hip hop world in order to expose Drake and his fans dont care. Straight disrespect to the culture.

This whole situation is quite bizarre. Drake is a white boy who grew up in Canada. In his music he sounds like he's from Southern United States. I think we've established that he's just as fake as Iggy Azelae. Yet people are bothered by these ghost writer allegations.

You people are weird as fukk.

To thecoli, he's going to take a major hit. Because we are more or less 'hip-hop heads.' The average breh going to the club or kid in school isn't going to care as much as we do. If this was 1998 or even 2003... then we probably wouldn't see much of him. Different day and age.
It all trickles down from the hip hop heads I the end tho. You need a certain amount of respect from hip hop heads if you want long term success, legacy and a career.

Look at any rapper that's ever had a long successful career and the 1 thing that's common is they're all widely respected by hip hop heads.

50 cents second album the massacre was hugely successful but most hop hop heads hated it and was seen as him selling out. That was when the world slowly started turning on 50. Imo if he had kept it rap and kept the pop singles to a minimum he would've sold less on that album but his career fall off wouldn't have been so harsh either as he would've kept a much larger core fan base like Nas.
