Timing. He also needs to build chemistry with a engineer that really benefits his sonic vision. His mixing had been awful these past few years.

Agreed but then again if Save Me was an album, maybe it would have the same problem: 5-6 dope tracks, 12 whatever tracks.
Probably, Future’s biggest problem is that his solo songs don’t hit anymore. Solo songs were his biggest strength. He had songs that were never going to be pushed as singles taking off
I don’t fully know what the issue is other than he’s past his peak

IMO when artists get older, curation and being properly produced becomes more important. When you're just on fire, you can release a 17 track album and it doesn't matter because you're firing on all cylinders. When you're fading you need somebody to help you maximize your shyt. He's got hundreds of tracks completed with every project...how do you get down to the best 13? Or the best 20, in this streaming environment lol. You need somebody who understands how albums should be paced, you need hits, etc.
Everything seems scattershot with Future rn. Way too complacent for a guy living in a house of cards (child support).
The more I listen to this, then more I think this is his best release since 2015. From the artwork and videos to the whole vibe of the ep, he was definitely locked in when he created this. RIP FXXXXY

Wow not even familiar with dude but I see he engineered and recorded this EP and made Extra and Government Official. Surprised Future didn't speak on him but he did a great fukking job with his work on this one. It kinda had a travis scott like quality to the sound to me but I really like it and it grew on me.
