She agree that I'm looney is straight dropping knowledge in this thread and getting to the heart of what's wrong with hip hop nowadays and a large portion of fans. And before yall try to hit me with that you must be white shyt kill that noise. The problem has nothing to do with race it has to do with fans not having the ability to discuss music intelligently and that bullshyt about white people not being able to feel music like us is garbage. To even say some shyt proves either you have never been around a diverse group of people and too scared to interact with people that aren't "hood" or you too young to know any better. Stop acting like Fantano is the problem and start demanding more from artists and not just cosign something bc everyone else does.

:ohlawd:

Great post. I completely disagreed with his Life Is Good review but was also willing to outline the points I disagreed with and refute them without resorting to namecalling and hyberbole.

If someones willing to articulate why they like or dislike something, they deserve an articulate rebuttal

if there is one thing you should never listen to is music album reviews.. its just too subjective, I'm sure there are some "objective" reiewers out there... but thats rare, I also hate when people review a genre of music they know that they don't really like

Articulation has nothing to do with recognizing something is outside your cultural reach. ARTICULATION and BABBLING factoids to make it seem like u know what ur talking about are not the same thing. I mean u got ppl in this very thread who dont even think GFID is hiphop.......and these same ppl agree with the Needle review. I mean could u honestly give an objective opinion on a hiphop album that u dont even consider hiphop???

ANYBODY can express their opinion on ANYTHING, that does not make it credible.....I dont care how smart or in the know u try to sound it still comes off phony if ur reviewing something that was made for a community that u dont belong to. Let a brother review a Beetles album and complain about how the music has no soul or that they can't sing...........CULTURAL DIFFERENCES do affect how we connect to music. CACs cant grasp the fact that all music is not geared towards them. That's why they love to call folks retarded or ignorant when they like music that they dont like.

Just started watching some of this guy's reviews. He's got an interesting perspective though I don't agree with everything he says.

Reviewers aren't really needed in this age because the public has access to the music at the same time or even before the reviewer. Back I the day 9th the music critic had a copy from the artist label before the public. The consumer would rely onot a review beforeverything making a purchase.

But I did check Needle out some of Lupe Fiasco review Tetsuo and Youth and he made some obvious observations that I did agree with. He has his own aproach to reviewing but I'm not sure if I could trust his taste in rap he's is almost to clinical when reviewing rap.
