The point is that you said they are freezing due to non Sony manufactured hdds when Sony has no hand in hdd manufacturing. The problem is likely due to hdd problems though

Same thing happened for the nXe update to the 360 dashboard a few years back.

At the end of the day, Sony fukked this one up (happy xbots?) and needs to figure out how to either reimburse or get those bricked systems back working.

I have a 1T in my slim w/ plus and autoupdate on. my joint ain't bricked but psn is down in my area. i can run games, netflix, hulu.. etc. its temporary....
