I'm paying off a credit card and should have it paid off by May. I'm going to try not to check my score until after then. I was at 806 in August before I took on more debt from losing my job but now you got me wondering if that was accurate. :hmm: Either way I want to get it back up and the site is still awesome.

I said that was back in August LOL! It's at 723 now. I paid off one card and paid down on the other and that hasn't been reflected in my score as of yet. My available balances aren't high so I got killed with high utilization.

Theres not much difference between a 750 score 800 imo.
With mortgages incomes and down payment are a major factors.
They look through everything with a fine tooth comb and use a different scoring method all together to determines your mortage rate.

I am going through it right now refinancing the house.

yea debt to income is the one biggest factor. depending on where you bank, if you don't meet the minimum debt to income ratio, you SOL

Myself. fukk 12(1)!
Those aren't FICO scores on Credit Karma; they use a proprietary scoring model that is specific to Credit Karma (Quizzle, Credit Sesame, etc. are the same way). The only way your can get your FICO scores is from My Fico or when you apply for credit; you will usually get a letter stating what your Experian/Equifax/TransUnion FICO score is (depending on which bureau they pulled from).

Sites like Credit Karma are okay for general monitoring, but they won't provide you with your actual score, and depending on what type of credit you apply for, the FICO you receive from a particualr company may be different also (there are auto enhanced FICOs, ones used for mortgages, some companies are still using FICO04 vs. FICO08 vs FICO09, etc.)
