I always figured it was stony to the lake too like south of 67th, east of stony and all the way down to the the sky way and the alphabet streets

I mean first time I heard state 2 the lake I was like but it just rolls off the tongue better tbh

Look at the street signs. Everything EAST of state should be the East side..

800 E 79th St. Is cottage grove but 800 W 79th St. Is Halsted. But really people consider all that just southside cuz there ain't enough Chicago going east cuz of the lake to even constitute it's own "side". So then you make it even smaller by starting at stony and it's just

Tbh Its really the south east side just like how the south west side is a subsection of the whole south side.

And technically you're right, anything east of state should be considered east side or south east side, But to me anything west of stony or even South chicago ave. just feels different from the real east side.

It doesn't even matter what i think BC nowadays nikkas by state st are claiming to be from the east side anyways
