nikkas in this thread kill me acting like Herb ain’t nice lol, I never understood the hatred for off beat rapping. If it’s not your cup of tea that’s fine, but sometimes being unorthodox works. nikkas in the Coli just want all rappers to rap the same :russ:

Most nikkas think you're offbeat if you're not riding the drum. Rappers with a good ear understand you can ride the drum or the rhythm. When you're really good you can switch between the drum and the melody on the same verse.

It's why most think rza and masta killa be offbeat.

What herbs mean is, rappers who try and use similes, metaphors and punches owe homage to NY.

Other regions with no NY influence rap straight-forward with very little word play. They focus more on "talking that real shyt".

You can always tell a rapper from another region that listened to NY style rap. Like Dro from ATL. Sauce Wakka from Houston. Mystikal from NL. Ross from Miami. They sometimes even struggle in their hometown because they don't rap like everyone else in the city.

He was in the group LEP with the guy who started drill music drocity pacman . He is a lyrist's lyrist but he was a pioneer in drill music before it devolved to what it is now
Drill music ,the production style came from the uk (from 2 step, garage dubstep bass) mixed with trap hi hats, then went to new York then to Chicago, rapping about killing with your homies in the back ground was inspired by 50 cent heat video . I think people consider anything about smoking opps drill music now regardless of the production style. But that's like putting oj da juiceman and pusha t in the same sub genre even though technically they're both coke rappers

as much as that does happen it aint no standard

and bone thugs aint no bump j and rhymefest
It's pretty common Juice Wrd favorite rapper is old Eminem. A lot of rappers don't rap the way they want to ,they do what sells and usually by the time they blow up their style has changed a lot from the music that originally inspired them .

im not sure about the uk thing but in the us in chicago drocity pacman song its a drill is considered the first drill song and the guy who started that style of music in 2009 the culture and lingo came from those guys gcount himself said he was a drill rapper at least at that time. Drill music is just a gangsta rap sub genre we all that facts are facts tho

chief keef and all those other guy nikkas made it popular especially after people started keeping track of people being killed around that time then dubstep sound bass shyt came years later afterwards.
