Game manager, Brock Purdy, is now the favorite to win MVP. We're losing recipes

Brady and the Pats won 17 out of their last 18 that season enroute to their second SB championship. Plenty of time left to salvage the season..shyt the Niners lost to the Eagles, 40-8 at home, during their last SB winning season.

Yeah but they were using spy camera to cheat. 49ers don't have that advantage.

Social media has turned people into whiplash idiots. One week a player is GOAT, the next week he's trash. One week a team is unbeatable, the next week they're frauds. MVP and Superbowl are season-long rewards. People tryna judge the meal before it's finished cooking.

I don't think it's an idiotic take to say Brock Purdy is not as good as Tom Brady. Brady also never had had weapons equal to Kittle, CMC, and Deebo at one time.

Unless your name is Peyton Manning, you are not winning MVP as QB, without winning your division. Tyreek wont win MVP because he no showed in most of their big games. Has nothing to do with character issues. Lawrence Taylor won MVP and he was a maniac off the field. Stafford has a minute chance at best.

Yea but 2023-2024 is a way different time/era than when Taylor won. I bring up Tyreek because I'm assuming they don't want to give it to Lamar and will at least consider a non-QB to spite him. Maybe CMC who balled out last night.

Stafford has a chip so maybe he gets the nod. Not saying he definitively should, I'm just throwing out names that seem like they will be in the convo. Give me a vote and I'll pick Lamar despite my love for my former QB Stafford.

Damn, you came hard for a one-season sports opinion, especially one that most people agree with me on. :picard:

They only had 290 yards of offense and 16 first downs the whole game after averaging 420 yards and 22 first downs on the season. Outside of that deep ball where Waddle beat his guy, they only had one drive over 42 yards all game. You're bragging about a 57 QBR game for Tua where he dinked short all day and sometimes his guys got the first down for him, sometimes they didn't. Tua, personally, played one of his best games that week at least in terms of accuracy and statistically it was still in his bottom half for QBR for the season cause he so rarely went downfield and threw short of the 1st so many times.

Tell me this - how many times in that entire game did Tua complete a pass more than 5 yards past the line of scrimmage?

I didn't say Tua wasn't important, but we're talking MVP, so is he an All-World quarterback or not? Cause Tyreek Hill IS an all-world wide receiver and he proved that long before he joined Tua's team.

Seems like you may not be an unbiased observer here. :sas1::sas2:

I don't even think Tua is an MVP. You just sound stupid calling our offense a 1 man offense and you clearly have no fukking idea what you're talking about. Our offense was down our entire Oline, Reek, and Achaine at one point.

Mosert broke our all time single season TD record this year for christs sakes :heh:

Once again try and watch the fukking games. If you did, you'd know we moved to quick game against the jets because THE ENTIRE STARTING OLINE WAS HURT :russ:. There are not many teams in the league that would even be able to move the ball aganist the Jets in that situation.

It was easily Mcdaniel's best game plan of the year we had so many injuries and crushed them. The game was out of reach for them after the first half and we obviously took our foot off the gas peddle.

Of course casusals don't follow this stuff and only look at stats to make any kind of thoughts on the game

Agreed on the Taylor point. Why would the media not wanna give it to Lamar? He is one of literally two MVP QBs to win it unanimously. He and Brady.

Anyone saying Brock Purdy is as good as Tom Brady should be committed to a mental institution. Anyone saying throwing 4 ints in a game is proof that Brock Purdy isn't as good as Tom Brady, or that Brock Purdy is playing game manager ball doesn't know football.

:dahell: First of all, who was comparing Purdy to Brady lmao... but Brady absolutely had as many weapons in a couple of his seasons. He had Moss and Welker at the same time. He also had a team with Gronk and Aaron Hernandez two of the best TE's we've ever seen. He also had a loaded Bucs WR corps with Mike Evans and Godwin

So. Cal
I think they're gonna try to give it to Stafford which wouldn't be a bad choice given that everyone assumed the Rams would be drafting in the top 5 after the season. If the Rams get into the playoffs I can see it being him. If not, Lamar prob the favorite at which point they might try to give it to a non-QB. It won't be Tyreek due to his legal and character issues IMO.
lol, no, he is 100% not even close to being in MVP talks. You guys really dunno how the MVP works after watching football all these years? :dahell:

Which ever QB has the best stats and has their team in the playoffs wins it. Its that simple.

Is it social media or is it a sports media that constantly promotes a state of psychosis in viewers, that has ruined sports discourse in America? Football media is def better than basketball media but the involvement of SAS/Skip/Rob Parker/etc is always gonna result in idiotic content that kills real discussion.

Football media is fine it's The Coli that uses basketball reactionary low level thinking and tries to apply it to football.

Purdy is not a bad QB, but I just disagreed with the MVP talk. Still has a chance to win the NFC and the Super Bowl, and that's what matters the most.:manny:.

They’re both quarterbacks who have thrown 4 ints in a game. That doesn’t mean Brock is as good as the greatest QB of all time, and it also doesn’t mean he can’t be a great QB when it’s all said and done. At this point in his career, Tom Brady didn’t look like he’d be the greatest QB of all time either. That’s the point. Trying to compare a QB in his second year to the full resume of a 23 year GOAT is patently insane behaviour. Judge the players on the totality of their play and where they are in their career.
