Tradition and precedent is what guides the realm. First scene of this series is everyone getting together and telling the audience that this is how we want the kingdom to be run. We want a male heir to inherit over a female heir
Viserys doing his own thing and making rhaenyra heir to spite his brother and then just never changing his mind is the problem not what Alicent and co are doing their thing.

He is a weak ass king who has a spoiled brat for a daughter and he has pumped her ego so high that she thinks she can put b*stards on the throne because he never checks her about any of the rebellious nonsense she does as a teen. So now as an adult she thinks its okay to just do whatever she wants and everyone else is the problem

This is like saying we obviously know that a character probably got killed for treachery so we don’t need to see how the characters reacted to said treachery before issuing the death sentence. It’s not occurring to you that we think it’s bad storytelling. Some omissions work and other times it makes shyt feel rushed. This felt rushed. You’re just being a lazy thinker.

In a way, he's the worst of them all. Attitude in the ranks reflects leadership, and he's far too conciliatory when he should have everyone on notice to stay in their lane.

Daemon prances around without consequence because his brother allows it.
Rhaenyra has notions that she can prance around like Daemon because her father allows it.
Otto Hightower thinks it's a good idea to maneuver for position, waving his daughter under Viserys' nose for "comfort", because the king allows it.
And on and on and on.
He's more concerned with playing with his models and looking to the future(concerned about the prophecy) than actually dealing with the problems under his nose. That neglect will have everyone getting notions that they can step up and do it better than he can. No monarch can ever afford to have people thinking like that.



What he should have done when Daemon pushed over the line with one of his stunts looking for attention: send two companies of crossbowmen into the Dragonpit and have them come back with Caraxes' head.

You're attempting to apply contemporary ideas to Westeros, and that will not work. There are no police nor legal system here to try hiding behind.

I can't side with Rhaenyrya at all ...she's akin to following Stannis for me....not likeable
