The book HOTD is adapted from is written like a historical account

No spoilers

Much different from ASOIAF. The writers had a lot too work with . By that, I mean you had actual character interactions and arcs

HOTD must be a tough one to adapt. A lot of grey area that has too be filled in. If that makes any sense…

100% you really are writing an original story out of some pretty barebones historical facts a lot of facts that aren't really clear or straight forward.

I think this is it. There was already a think piece about anti-gay violence when Joffrey got punched to death. This is their way of not having to have another gay character die. He gets to live his life and frolic with Qarl. <---the fact that this is still a smiley in 2022 is hilarious

it causes too many narrative problems because they were too p*ssy to kill another gay character

I don’t mind them pandering to lgbqt and not killing Laenor.

I think they just wanted to show how ruthless Daemon was and ofcourse fast forward to the marriage.


After seeing how rushed everything feels, I can see why the director left the show. It’s just very hard to nail this story with a limited budget and talent pool of actors
