I can already tell you it's going to be "Game Of Thrones".
"TWD" is on basic cable and averages about 14 million viewers. Last season "GOT" averaged 23 million viewers on HBO. Also "GOT" is the most bootlegged show in existence.

I'm so conflicted about the book. I really want to read it but I also sort of want to make it through the rest of this series without the main fandom constantly making comparisons to the book. I mean it's already a shytstorm at times, and that's simply with comparing it to 5 and 10 year old books, but it's only so much they can say about a book that hasn't been written yet. Seasons 7 and 8 wouldn't be able to breathe if Winds dropped at any point before they finished airing.
But I wanna read it badly though.

Maybe this means we'll get more than 7 episodes.
But probably not.
7 episodes has to do more with budget than lack of time. Not enough money to do 10 episodes anymore with how much CGI is gona be involved with the dragons, White Walkers, and most likely the direwolves playing a much more central role.
Who knows though maybe they can convince HBO to give a significant budget increase with the increase in time, more time to negotiate and play hard ball.
