I feel like the battle systems were very similar. Definitely more similar than all the other party based ff games.

Also 13 was very similar to X either way the anime manga futuristic style of the world and characters.

The Cloud glazing is out of control. Sephiroth saved that game.

Hell no. And this is from a person that liked at least the first disc of 8. If it stayed at that level it might have been better but the plot fell apart.

It does have one of the best endings in the entire series though. Only 10, 15, and 9 are better.
