Gamers often complain that a game series needs a new engine, are there games that change engines?

So are these enhancements due to s new engine or Just improving the existing engine ?




Should it be this way?

They created a new engine at the end of last console cycle. And carried that engine and all its features over to next gen.

They created a new engine when the Xbox 360 dropped also, but they carried over no features from Xbox and ps2, which set the entire gen back. Cause they engine was done wrong and they couldn't really adapt. they didn't want to put the time into creating a new engine until they were almost forced to, they created at the end of the gen. But it takes a lot of time and effort to create a engine correctly.

And they be transitioning to frostbite engine in like a year a 2. Making the football game is more complex in a soccer or nba basketball game, it's a full contact sport wit a lot more going on in the play, it takes more time to do it correctly, but they said all the features will carry over.

Said they have 5 year plan. This is year 3 I think
