they raise a lot of money too..
Athene (a popular World of Warcraft and Diablo 3 streamer/youtuber) raised $12 million for kids in the past year by himself![]()
not $12,000.. or $120,000... $12 million..
Thought I saw they got to $12 million live on stream. Looks like they are almost at $11 million... still crazy
http://gamingforgood.net/
and they say playing video games is a waste of time

which is in the thousands as well
and not counting the money he wins from the few tournaments he plays
theres already hundreds of gamers making hundreds of thousands a year. Soon gamers will be making in the millions a year and when that happens it ll be thousands and thousands of people making hundreds thousands of years and a lot of the top streamers do some kind of charity..
when Athene was doing a live stream for the charity a lot of other top streamers were donating $1000-2000+ at a time
by the time we have kids and they are old enough itll be a real career... for some it already is.. Even for some of the smaller streamers with 3 million total viewers they still make $2000-3000+ a month.. the bigger streamers obviously $25000+ a month but a lot can live off of $2000-3000 a month
yup...twitch is one of the greatest things to happen to gaming
