Rmour has it NFL likes exclusive rights but at the time EA came to them in 2005 about the idea for football and NBA. NBA said no thank fukking God and MLB got bought by 2k before EA can grab it. 2k allowed all other companies to make baseball games besides EA.

GTA V was disappointing, by rights I should love it, it did so many things right but I never got hype to play it like other games. Was good, but not great like it should have been. Runner up would be the latest Batman, such a let down.
Destiny over exceeded, I don't really like FPSs, and a lot of the feedback from fans was indifferent with the grinding etc, but perhaps cos I jumped in really late (post TTK) but it's damn near the most fun I've had with a game since I was a youth playing Mario.
Special mentions to Dying Light and Bloodborne, the former I thought 'another Zombie game' but it had great gameplay and a good story with the most varied and interesting side missions Ive played in an open world. The latter I thought was overhyped by try-hard fans but can totally see how immersive it can be. In a way, it's a spiritual successor to Shadow of Colossus, once you get to those bosses it really shines.
