1992 Rangers-Penguins (Round 2)
- Mark Messier's first year on Broadway, he does a masterful job in guiding us to the #1 seed in the entire playoffs. We then lose to the Penguins (4 games to 2) in round 2 after being about 5:00 away from going up 3-1 in the series in game 4. The goal that turned game 4 around was a shot from center ice
. Penguins may have been defending champs, but Super Mario Lemieux missed most of the series with a broken hand
1998 Jets - Broncos (AFCCG)
-2nd half begins with Jets up 10-0 and 30 minutes from the SB, TD emphatically proves he's a better back than Curtis Martin, and the beating we would have put on Atlanta in 2 weeks never happens. To this day I still wish we had Adrian Murrel in 98 instead of CuMar, Murrel was a much, much tougher runner. Of course I'm not too mad because we still got both Bills, Vinny, Key, Mo & the gang all coming back for 1999. No way we don't take that next step
2004 Jets vs Steelers (2nd round)
-2 missed FGs in the final 3 minutes to win a trip to the AFCCG. Leads me to forever hate the names Doug Brien & Herman Edwards. The final shreds of innocence of my fandom from my youth are washed away, and this was literally the final time I shed a tear for one of my teams. A much more hardened sports fan emerges from the trauma
