Too low or too high

A classic example would be Heart of Darkness (PS1):

The game is rated E for Everyone (6 and up), but contains some shockingly brutal death scenes, many of them involving the child protagonist getting crushed or maimed. I assume the ESRB censors simply did not see these scenes.

Another good example would be Zone of the Enders (PS2), which was rated M even though the game itself is very mild. No swearing, no gore or blood at all, no sex, strictly cartoonish violence. Would be a mild T rating if not for the MGS2 demo included with the game.

Stolen from GAF with zero fukks given :lolbron:

My choice is the Halo Series. It's a high T in my view similar to Uncharted. There actually was marketing material and shelf boxes with a T rating on them prior to the games launch

Tomb Raider (2013) aside from the death scenes didn't warrant an M

Rated T but what you can do in the game if you're sadistic should make the game Rated M. There are refugees through out the game you have to rescue but you can go on a murder spree and kill them all instead. Yeah, they're furries but it's clear that they are a sentient species and some that you have to rescue are families with kids even infants. You can decapitate them, burn them alive, or splatter them all over their huts with a plasma shotgun :damn: shyt ain't right...

:ohhh: I remember this

Didn't you have to rescue them all anyway to beat the game?

I remember reading someone failed to rescue all of them and it wouldn't let him complete the game :lolbron:

It's what happened to me. I was 12 when I first played the game. I was killing everybody indiscriminately. Hard body on the collateral damage, clearing the levels like it was Tiananmen Square 1989. If they die, they die :yeshrug:

Then comes that part where you have to chase the final boss and that fukk ass Shaman said all the people you were supposed to rescue were the ones you needed to fix the ship to continue the chase.

:wtf:

I put the game down for a whole year. :deadrose:

I don't understand why they let you kill them and don't tell you to the end that you need to rescue them to beat the game

As a kid I was shocked that Ocarina of Time got a E rating considering there are at least two dungeons in that game and some freaky ass monsters that venture into horror game territory.

Metal Gear Solid series being rated M never made much sense to me

Ocelot's hand getting chopped off and the hallway before fighting the ninja probably warranted a M rating.
