RE4 Remake

Near flawless top-down Zelda-like but with bullet-hell enemies. Game is pretty challenging without being overly difficult, has an impactful upgrade system, dungeons that don't outstay their welcome and feels great to play - only thing I didn't enjoy were the races which are needed to win to get to the final boss as they didn't have an automatic re-start system when you fukked up, which you'll do a lot.

First game of the year just completed, Cronos The New Dawn is finally done.

Throw Resident Evil 9 up there, next up is either Metal Eden or Pragmata.

Just finished Prince Of Persia Lost Crown.

Platforming was a lot of fun, could never really get the general parrying down but enjoyable game.

Very mixed bag here. Has a very cool mix of dope map-interconnectedness, exploration and abilities revealing new areas/materials/loot etc that I found very compelling after a very dry opening. Combat, movement and controls on the other other hand are, at best, serviceable, particularly in a genre like metroidvania that has so many great feeling games. Another plus is how great the backgrounds are - parts of the game look really dope - and the sheer amount of content in the game. The story, which is very straightforward with some cool side quest stuff, is unfortunately let down by terrible dialogue. Also, the game is pretty glitchy. All in all I enjoyed it for the pleasure of exploring the map, maxing out abilities etc.
