Can I turn my Trade In Credit into Amazon Credit? Yes.
1. First convert your Trade-In Card into a GameStop Gift Card. They are different. I ran into an employee who thought they were the same, they are not. It helps to ask them to split up your trade credit into multiple GameStop gift cards (for example: $500 Trade In Credit into 5 x $100 GameStop Gift Cards)
2. Go to a different GameStop Store
3. Buy Amazon Cards with your GameStop Gift Card. (Their computer system ALLOWS this. If the GS employee "doesn't think it will work" kindly ask them to try.)
THIS WORKS, YMMV. Some people are being denied, there is no reason, their system ALLOWS this. Just be sure you are going to different stores to convert the Trade In -> GameStop GC -> Amazon GC. It will NOT work if you are trying to do that all in the same store. If denied, just wait or try another store. Their system does allow this, so just wait.
Also ProTip: Break up your Trade-In Card into GameStop GC into smaller denominations. For example: If you have $600 in Trade In Credit, ask for 6 x $100 GameStop Gift cards. Tell them they're literally gifts.

You dont need the app. Go to
www.amazon.com/cash. If you are logged in you can click a link to get a barcode that the gamestop employee scans to "add" cash to your amazon account. You cant go straight from trade in credit card to amazon. You have to find a store willing to let you "buy" gamestop gift cards with your trade in credit. Gamestop gift cards can be anything from $5 to $500 max. Max transfer into amazon is $500 per transaction. Coincidence? I think not!
