Technically the debt accrued should have been for the MMO as well but yeah you're right - I failed to acknowledge that studio being investigated for corruption. There are other such cases like Dyack and his studios. Between corruption and just general poor management, there's plenty of room for budgets to go down I think. But I'm not in the industry so who am I to say.
I dunno if you played the game or not but there was a couple other factors that made it flop as well.
I'm gonna nerd out a sec but bear with me.
First off, there was no ceiling for critical damage, or critical hit rate. In other words, with the right gear every hit would be critical, making other stats like Attack useless. And since there was no cap on critical hit damage, you'd have normal hits doing 3,000, and special attacks doing 300,000. Just raping the shyt out of everything in the game.
Lastly, if you maxed out the Gem Craft and Blacksmithing, you could create
retarded armor and weapons that blew everything else in the game out of the water. So it made treasure in the game pointless.
It was a fun game but those things kinda ruined it.
