I didn't say Indie games were better than EA. I said they made some better games with less than a multi million dollar budget.

How am I selfish because I don't believe the bullshyt these companies are putting out. It is a capitalistic country and if your product not sellling look your self in the dam mirror.

Just because you can't make money you want to charge me more and I am selfish for complaining but then offer limitations on my own purchase. You dudes are clowns and sheep. Same guys that can buy anything a company releases because you are all fan boys.

Did you watch the video? It has nothing to do with what "they tell us" it's reality.

Name any other form of entertainment that costs less today for consumers, yet costs more for the providers:popcorn:

I know but one of the reasons this video was made has been the crazy comments by developers complaining about prices etc.....

Consumers should always pay less that is how it is. Majority of the business model relies on supply and demand. Make a great product and sell millions there will be demands for a new one than a new than you build they rep to make other games.

EA did it right with wack as Madden. Same game for almost 2 decades and def less cost because of that and they sold millions upon millions.

They trying to copy the Oil company model of business lol. They want to dictate to the consumers how and what the business model should be lol. You can't do that with entertainment breh.

 you didn't answer my question. Name an industry that constantly provides more for less.

No but trying to justify there argument makes you one. If you have money free to you but if you are trying to justify boosting prices when I don't see it or the majority of the people than its all B.S
:smugdraper:
First off being able to buy what you want does not make you a fan boy and second I wasn't justifying price boosting at all. But with that said I think you dont understand inflation breh or what that video was saying at all.
Check it:beli:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflation

In economics, inflation is a rise in the general level of prices of goods and services in an economy over a period of time.
[1] When the general price level rises, each unit of currency buys fewer goods and services.
Consequently, inflation reflects a reduction in the purchasing power per unit of money – a loss of real value in the medium of exchange and unit of account within the economy.
[2][3] A chief measure of price inflation is the inflation rate, the annualized percentage change in a general price index (normally the consumer price index) over time.[4]

I'm on the cut-costs bandwagon but I'm also ok with raising prices, personally. Both solutions are fine.

The truth is gamers ARE spoiled. Supply is kind of bigger than demand at this point. So many people want to make games and not enough people are willing to pay 60-70 per game to play. We've got too many INCREDIBLY SHORT games WITH NO REPLACE VALUE to buy more at full price. Our cups runneth over. Something's gotta give.

FIXED THAT FOR YOU.

 you didn't answer my question. Name an industry that constantly provides more for less.

Movies and Mobile Handmakers are two popular forms of providing more for less. Shyt we can name the Sports industry too and all forms of Entertainment. Supply and Demand. Why do you think every new technology that comes out after a year gets cheaper and cheaper. Nobody wasn't paying for Blu Rays at 400 a pop. Now that shyt less than a 100. Supply and Demand.

Nintendo even though gamers hate them has a Supply and Demand same with PC indie games on the rise.

You have no idea what your talking about. Movie tickets are more than double what they were 15-20 years ago.

And :wtf: is a "mobile handmaker" if your talking about phones they've gone up too.

Tickets to sporting events, sports memorabilia, all gone up in price.

Try again:popcorn:

I'm not watching or reading a damn thing in this thread.

PSOne games used to cost $39.99, the system itsef was $300, IIRC.

Neither price can be said about games now

I think we have tons of games with replay value. But nobody's replaying their games like in the NES days because once again, we have too many games. Kingdoms of Amalur was a long game that no one bought and subsequently ended shutting down the studio. When you got stories like that, what's the incentive to spend that much money?

Cost multiple Millions to create a wack as movie. Movie tickets are only 10 to 12 dollars. Not Dramatic.

Cost Millions to supply chips etc.. for mobile devices unless you are Apple :ooh: Phones are subsized through the networks and really aren't see that full purchase majority of the time.

Sports events and security, salaries etc.... has gone up but tickets prices didn't see a dramatic rise.

If you speaking in that sense, Gaming has gone up too. Which is my entire point of the argument and how it is B.S

Comparing game prices to 93 like wtf lol. Last I recall there were more Millionaries and a huge Middle Class than lmao.

That's why franchises you support it's important to get the DLC's.
Then wouldn't we have to change the thread title to "Games are nearing Neo-Geo Prices" fukk paying for DLC. Only COD is worthy, everything else these days they want more for the season pass than the damn games :damn:

I just bought Borderlands 2 for $10, something that would of NEVER been possible in the era you talking about (Story Tru)

I this year alone copped a bunch of fulll games for $5 to $15 via digital downloads. This Liquid a$$hole tried to tell me how games this way wouldn't be cheaper on consoles. Its a Steam exclusive or some lame fukk shyt
@Liquid even said I didn't know anything about technology :laff: But he had no problem piggy backing off my DD comments, acting like they was his thoughts. Before he abandoned all that on this website :umad:
But now I'm off topic...

That's what I'm talking about. I absolutely loved kingdoms of Amalur. And I fear games like that are increasingly becoming a thing of the past. All fresh new ideas will be relegated to small budget titles, and then all we'll have left is Halo, COD, and Madden.

Adjusted for inflation that's still more expensive than a ps4 and a new game. The ps1 gave you a fraction of the functionality that the ps4 will, the games costed much less to make and In general were not as good of quality, yet the price was still higher.

:mindblown: I can't understand how so many people can't see this.

:ohhh:So in every other industry as development/manufacturing costs rise, so do consumer costs.

But in the gaming industry the exact opposite has been happening.

Thanks for making my point for me:cheers:

THAT'S THE RISK OF DOING BUSINESS. YOU CAN CREATE MEDIOCRE GAMES AND MAKE A LIL MONEY. YOU COULD ALSO TAKE A CHANCE ON SOMETHING EPIC AND RISK IT. THE PROBLEM IS ALL THE STUDIOS ARE ON THE FORMULA AND THE INDUSTRY COULD END UP SUFFERING.

A TON OF GAMES THESE DAYS ARE JUST INTERACTIVE MOVIES NOW. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN RENTING A GAME WAS JUST SO YOU COULD SEE IF YOU WANTED TO BUY IT. A 3 DAY WEEKEND RENTAL WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU TO FINISH A GAME AND BE SATISFIED WITH IT.

ALSO THINGS OUTSIDE OF GAMING ARE HAVING AN EFFECT ON REPLAY. YOUTUBE AND STREAMING SITES MAKE IT SO THAT GAMES WITH MULTIPLE ENDINGS DON'T REQUIRE REPLAY ANYMORE. YOU CAN JUST WATCH THE ENDINGS ON YOUTUBE. BEFORE THIS, IF YOU WANTED TO SEE AN ENDING YOU EITHER HAD TO PLAY IT YOURSELF OR BE THERE WHEN SOMEBODY ELSE BEAT IT.
