When I look at the Occulus Rift and people wearing it...I can't help but think back to the Virtual Boy and the migraines it caused me.

I can't think of any games that actually used the shoulder buttons on Genesis and SNES controllers besides turbo in sports games...So you could technically say they were ahead of their time.

I have to go with Sega Dreamcast. Remember not giving a fukk about it's release till I walked by EB Games and saw the NFL 2K demo playing in the window :whoo: Begged Mom to let me cash in my birthday and Christmas gifts early to cop that shyt :heh:

The graphics, the VMU was really cool (being a pet and shyt when you took it out :dead:), online multiplayer with a Sega keyboard you could purchases to talk shyt in-game (ie: NBA2K, text would pop up right on the screen too, lol.). Looking back I'm shocked how well the Sega network streamed on DIAL UP, yet we struggle to maintain the same sort of fluidity with the internet we have today. Crazy. Great system, great innovative technology. So many classics birthed on that system.

Also, I would like to add the Phantom console that was never released.

I actually was able to play with one YEARS ago. It was basically a steambox...10 years ago and had a very slick UI. I think 5 of the prototypes were ever built. That company makes "lapboards" now.
this is my whole thing of being innovative doesn't always equal sales.
sega was and always be amazing...

Yeah, there is something for being too ahead of the curve and that was the case with Sega time and time again.

Technically all their consoles were ahead of the competition when they were out, but failed miserably because they kept coming out with add-ons and dropped support too quickly

Sega channel. I remember when my cousin got it. Went over his house, saw it, and I was like, "We've finally reached the pinnacle of gaming! Nothing more can be done!":blessed:
New games every first of the month. I used to wake up and check to see what new games they had before I went to school :wow:
