Alot of people like to take guesses at whats coming and whats going to be the future trends. Figured I make a thread so people can express what they see trending or what they feel the next big thing or game might be.

I think the FPS genre is on heavy life support, and we are going to start to see far less attempts at triple A FPS. Outside of Halo and gears I think everything else is a wrap. I also feel like jrpgs and rpgs in general are about to make a heavy splash again.

Other styles of games to watch out for

side scrollers and platformers.

MW2 actually had a 3rd person perspective muiltiplayer mode

might revisit the game later on today just for that.

I think people are tired of FPS, outside of Halo 5 i most likely won't be copping any of them brand new this gen, will get Hardline when it's $30 or less on PS4, but prefer to cop it for $10 on PC

Final Fantasy 15 and MGS V Phantom Pain are gonna crush the buildings.

Tomb Raider sequel, Arkham Knight, Witcher 3 and Mortal Kombat X should be dope also

Quantum Break will have the best looking visuals for a long time, visually it looks better than UC4 so far

Uncharted will be pushed back to christmas 2016

Fallout 4 Nov. 2015

FPS going forward will be faster and revolve around mobility.

AAA F2P will become a thing

People have grown tired of "cinematic" games. I expect gameplay focused experiences to make a return.

what's with this talk about fps going away?....fps arent going anywhere and will continue to one of the top selling genres led by games like cod and battlefield...the fact that rockstar put a fps view into gta5 should show yall that...and yea, i know gamers say they tired of them, but they wallets/purses say differently...just like gamers are supposedly tired of sequels, prequels, 'the same ole games'....those are the games people are buying, so those are the games that will continue to be made...

as for predictions/trends:

- the industry is gonna move away from the games being either AAA or indie, with barely anything in between setup because of costs...which is gonna lead to more games overall...we'll still get those AAA, but we'll start to get smaller titles, which is a win win for for both gamers and the industry...

- studios are just barely scratching the surface of what they can do with these new consoles....games already look good, but i think the next leap we'll see is going to be in gameplay...

- mass effect 4, god war 4, gears 4 will all be teased/announced at e3 for 2016....we'll also get collections of those old games for the new consoles....

- uncharted, quantum break, tomb raider will be pushed back to 2016...

- destiny 2 will be teased at e3, and it'll turn out to be that coment of darkness and the expansions that leaked awhile ago...cause i dont think they will go with a completely new game for at least another 3-4 years....

- this will be the last all in full supporting year for ps3/360....they'll still get support for a couple more years, but that support will get less and less, phasing them out starting this year....

- genres of games are going to be harder to tell apart cause games will increase the mixing of a lot of different gameplay elements together...the rpg genre might go away completely cause of this....we're gonna continue to get more rpg style level up/grind in games, making it hard for a traditional rpg to appeal to people...

- a lot of gamers will continue to bytch and complain about every minor thing just cause they're an unhappy, never satisfied bunch, no matter what...
