What is better for gaming and developing? If I have a great CPU with a weak GPU will my performance still be better than a GPU suited up with a weaker CPU vice versa?
GPU most of the time, like @2gunsup stated.
At least 90% of the time the GPU is more important..
Basically, this is why the PS4 is the better gaming machine this gen.
Stop paying attention to the BS that courtdog posts.Never knew that I thought when you have a crazy CPU you can max out your gaming experience like with PC gaming you can have a solid GPU but csn max out FPS with a CPU
you got an X chip? Some of us are,![]()
Were your titan xs bottlenecking with your 4790k? I seem to get a bottleneck is some games, and I can't tell where it is (like GTA V). Is that why you upgraded, or did you just upgrade to have the latest and greatest?

Thanks, breh. I'm rocking 1440p, but I just got a 4k tv that is fukking insane, so I might be playing at 4K when possible. The bottlenecking was weird in gta v. I can run other games completely fine, sometimes at 6K (3x1440p). Like I can murder witcher 3 with the highest possible settings at 1440p 60fps. But then in gta v I get 100s to 40s to 60s to 120s, it's strange. I'm playing with the highest possible settings though (I'll check out your link. Thanks). Some other games appear to be bottlenecking as well, but they were known to be unoptimized. I'm just worried about the pcie lanes. Like I'm running 8X8, when I was used to 16 x 16 with my 4820k. Everybody on other forums says a titan x won't get a pcie bottleneck at 8, but I dunno.Just had that upgrade itch and Broadwell/Skylake wasn't really going to do it for me moving from a 4790K. After selling all my shyt the costs to upgrade wasn't too bad either. Also, there's something about the X99 Deluxe board,
I actually switched the Titan X's to 980 Ti's which I've clocked to 1550mhz, but nah, I didn't experience any bottlenecks with the 4790K, it was clocked to 4.7 though so that may have helped. Some settings in GTAV murder any current set up so you got to be careful there. What resolution you rocking at?
