What if….
- What if that Nintendo/Playstation console actually released instead of the N64.
- What if GTA 3, Spider-Man, Resident Evil 4, Destiny, and Guitar Hero were Xbox exclusives?
- What if the Dreamcast never failed?
- What if Dark Souls was a PlayStation exclusive?
- What if DMC1 or RE 3.5 would’ve stayed Resident Evil 4?
- What if Naughty Dog would’ve released that Jak reboot instead of Uncharted?
- What if FF7 released on the N64, and Square and Nintendo never had a falling out?
What if Thrill Kill was released instead of reworked into Wu-Tang Shaolin Style.
What if Fable actually did everything Peter Molyneux claimed it would?
What if EA Big kept going?
What if Sega never dropped out of the console wars?
What if Bernie Stolar hadn't dropped the ball with the RAM cartridge?

X-men vs. Street Fighter could have expanded the market
the sad past about sega theory crafting is that the roots were so rotten at the time that just about every theory thought up wouldnt change segas end fate. the infighting, working behind others backs, confusion on how to move forward in the console space not only damned the saturn, but the dreamcast with it.
the ram cart is a perfect example. arcade perfect versions of xmen vs street fighter, marvel vs sreet fighter, and street fighter alpha 3 would have had early internet chatrooms buzzing more if they got western releases, but it would have come out on the saturn in the west at the time, so despite being better than its playstation counterpart, it would have gone mostly unnoticed and now the release of said games would go for 4 fukking digits if not more.
honestly a saving grace after sega folded would be for them to be bought out by microsoft for their then unreleased console, as well as changing the name of the console from the xbox to the sega msx or the msx 3. nothing would change in the west, and they would seem to have the japanese influence needed to thrive in japan. especially since it seems many of the sega games being worked on for the xbox were dreamcast holdovers. gut the sega of america division to bare essentials and merge them with the ms gaming division while keeping sega of japan(albeit heavily reined in) and they could have created magic.
