So how did humanity begin?
symbiogenesis. eukaryotes from prokaryotes. multi-celled life. leave a sandwich on the counter for two weeks and tell me life doesnt find a way :yeshrug:

symbiogenesis lead the way to abiogenesis. more and more forms of life began to grow and evolve, which eventually included us. you can follow the journey of species like austraiopitchecus to the homo genus. i wanna say 'it aint that complicated' but damn if it isnt :picard:

from there we either walked until we found a nice place or were taken somewhere else

humanity itself wasnt really getting too far until we figured out how to cook food. cooking meat and vegetables enriches them and leads to bigger brains and modern intelligence, which led to farming around the time of the neolithic revolution

Ethiopia is the birthplace of Christianity. So not surprised
i would say christianity didnt really take off until paul started spreading it around west asia. central eastern africa is probably the original source for humans, but not christianity

man :childplease:

the stories are metaphors to try to get people to live decent*. searching for actual sites is just silly damn :heh:

i wish christians would worry more about what jesus said than shyt like this

*i do not condone everything in the bible. its full of bigotry, hatred, and borderline JBO material
Not necessarily. We took this silly viewpoint with the iliad and the odyssey until we realized Troy was a real place.

It's worth noting that ancient people often wrote stories about the places they saw around them. So it's of historical, archaeological, cultural, and scientific significance for these places to be identified. It adds context and also gives us a nice place to look for archaeological remnants of old civilizations.

Sodom and Gamorah were a similar situation also. As are locations from other holy books such as the Mahabharata which have lead to archaeological gold mines like Dwarka (which we would have never found without religious texts because it was submerged)

Shifting goal posts.

I never did mention the Trojan war. I was referring to your statement about looking for "actual sites is just silly" and that they were "metaphors". I cited Troy, a real city from a mythical text , and the nonsilly value in finding the places from the text.

Please reread my post.
