Gargoyles is my favorite cartoon of all-time; the sheer epic-ness of the episodes put it over the top. Hell, every single character had a story. If you've ever visited Aask Greg, he had some excellent ish planned for the show.

damn just watched the first 2 eps, and it still holds to this day.
that scene when they first woke up in nyc and the camera pans across the roof, with everyone waking up was
the voice acting was def up there with batman, and the animation is still fantastic

this would def make a great live action movie, especially if they made it as epic and violent as the cartoon.
