There were mad unintentional ducktales in that interview. Payton said Kemp missed two FTs with 8 seconds left in Game 3 then Pack came down and hit a 3. That's not how it happened at all. Wrong game, plus Kemp missed two FTs with like a minute to play and the Sonics and Nuggets both had a couple chances to score after the Pack 3. And who was shaking their hands down 4 with like a minute left?

Then KG boldly said "y'all went to a couple finals." Nah, they went to one. That team was mad disappointing to me. All that fukking talent and depth, and only one Finals appearance to show for it. Thought they were destined for a few finals appearances and at least one championship. But George Karl squads gon' George Karl.
I forget if it was for George Karl or Jerry Sloan but back in the old site you put together this consolidated list chronicling all of the playoff choke jobs and failures one of them routinely coached their teams into, as a rebuttal to the routine praises they still received as great coaches. The new kids would've used the word savage to describe what you shared with us.

It may've been for Jerry Sloan actually, but as a relative old head i was lookin back at 90s bball like :ohhh:

it's all george karl fault, that moment when he refused to put gary on MJ in the finals till game 4 and they won the next two, just a fukking idiot of a coach

that team was disappointment because they were supposed to win a championship, for the simple fact, they owned utah jazz and houston rockets

seattle handled hakeem in 93 and 96 like it's nothing, they did the same to utah in 93 and 96

94 or 95 was the year to win it all, and they blew it like no one else, that 95 series they lost to the young ceballos, van exel, eddie jones squad :mjlol: which was as bad as denver upset
The 90s was an era full of good teams that couldn't quite achieve greatness for a number of reasons.

Seemed like he was talking specifically about that Seattle squad to me. But yeah. thought of that. He got that roleplayer ring.
