Lebron is the best scorer, defender, rebounder, passer, primary and clutch playmaker, first offensive option, and is usually tasked with guarding the biggest offensive threat on the opposite end of the floor. He's asked to be a DPOTY level player on defense and the main scoring option in offense.
To put it clearly, Lebron has Melo, Shumpert, Felton, and Chandler's job at the same damn time.
Melo is only asked to score. That's his only job. How is he more valuable a player?

Isn't the MVP a regular season award? The heat most likely still make the playoffs without lebron can the same be said for the knicks and melo?
You can make the same argument for the best player on every team that just barely made the playoffs. Does that mean those guys are more valuable than Bron too? Thats irrelevant. Without Lebron the Heat are not the best regular season team in the league this year. Again, if Lebron and Melo switched teams the Knicks would be clearly better ad the Heat wouldn't be as good. That alone illustrates that Lebron is a more valuable player. There really is no comparison here. Melo isn't half the playmaker, defender, or team leader that Lebron is. There's no valid argument for him being more valuable.

I like his outside the box thinking because if not for this type of logic bron either wins it every year or the player on the best team will automatically win it .
