The cost of living allows your salary to go furter. I remember talking to a security guard in NYC one time back in 2005. She said she was going to get a job in NC that paid her 15 an hr but she said she was making 18 an hour in NYC and didn't want to take a pay cut. But rent in NC around 2005 was only around 650 for a 2bedroom while she and a roommate were paying around 1400 for a spot in NYC.

Breh... my boy's wedding is on Fridays, July 28th and even though I have more than two months to prepare... when i saw them flight tix, i was (Basically 500 bucks round trip from seatac to lax)



Even if i just stay for the weeknd, you gotta factor in two days of lodgings (half a rack), three days of rental car (between 350-400 bones), gas, food, wedding present, trinkets/sew veneers, etc.) and booze...



I'm spending two thousand dollars... just for myself.



When any time 2021 and prior... this was easily HALF of that (maybe 1200 if i wanted to do something fun like lego lands or hollywood walk of fames).

Traveling is now more a luxury than its err been before. Ugh ugh... Seattle is nice enough this time of year wear I'm kosher staying here, working, kicking it on the weeknds and watching the cruise ships harbor the docks.

Once you move to California, it's hard to leave. Yeah, I'll get a cheaper cost of living but I'm going to miss going to the beach, hiking the mountains, diverse food options, and the mild climate all in one.

Move to Reno NV. Lived in LA 30yrs. Knew when i left wouldn't be back back . Love CA once you leave you realize how it's a trap
