As Mayor, Gavin created Healthy SF, which even today remains the only citywide and countywide universal health program in the nation.

The law known as Healthy San Francisco, created in 2007, has not only endured but has been strengthened under Obamacare. It covers undocumented San Francisco residents and poor people who don’t qualify for Medi-Cal, the state’s low-income health care program. It also provides financial assistance for those who qualify for subsidies through Covered California but still can’t afford to purchase health insurance on their own.

Could San Francisco’s universal health care model work for all of California?

San Francisco residents got Universal Healthcare because of him when he was Mayor....he also got the minimum wage higher. I don't think anybody would mind paying more for taxes in exchange for both. As far as guns go...the less the better to me

You're right. I can't think of one person I know that has compained about Gavin...Jerry Brown was a bad Mayor of Oakland and a mediocre Governor of California.

He's have the dem nomination on lock. Minority vote, progressive vote, and youth vote. He'd probably get washed in a general though. He'd get NO support from any conservative independents because of his stances on guns, illegals, and taxes

Maybe he could parlay as a "Federalist Democrat", given that he told ICE to fukk off re: illegals, and told the state of CA to fukk off re: gay marriage. If he said he would roll back federal gun regulations and lets states run it themselves, he'd get huge gains.

What about Ron Dellums? Dude was , and I voted for him. Didn't do shyt. I don't get all the hate for Brown. I liked him. He brought a lot of money to the town and helped reduce crime. Downtown was a shythole and businesses were on a mass exodus. It all started coming back under Brown.
