This is the point I'm trying to make they pick and choose what they wanna follow the hypocrisy is disgusting.

I agree with that.

However, it doesn't make any sense for you to be "disgusted" when they do actually pick to do what they claim to follow. lol

Yeah, I had a paper route as a kid and there was a Jewish family that always refused to pay me when I tried to collect on Saturdays because it was their sabbath day. Yet half the time they werent home and one time they even came back with bags full of groceries and still gave me the same line. They weren't refusing to pay because it was the holy sabbath, they refused to pay because they were Jews :beli:

Not always. There are a lot of churches and congregations that tend to be more liberal on social issues don't take the Old Testament literally when it comes to homosexuality.

No doubt. I personally hate the cherry picking a lot of pastors do with the bible.

They'll preach about old testament stuff, then when something that they don't like affects them in the OT, they'll find a passage in the new testament that says it's okay and that doesn't applyl anymore.

Example: Eating Pork and non Fish Seafood.

Yep, there's a "rules are rules, nothing we can do about it" ideology with certain issues while they have blatantly bent or skewed rules in other areas.

I don't know why these things remain an issue. Homosexuality is made to be such a huge problem in backwards towns full of people who have never explored the world but in the cities where homosexuality is more visually prevalent, its a footnote no one cares about.

There will never be a requirement to accept homosexuality. In the church you can bash it all you want. You can even bash it in public but just like other controversial views, that can come with backlash. I'll never understand why this remains difficult for religious types to understand.

It could be that they don't "think it's gross", and they don't have anything to do with "denying them rights".
It could strictly be that it is "condemned", not by them, but as a tenet of their faith system.
The Bible was once used to advocate slavery too, and justifies murder for things like adultery and disobeying your parents. Also dont forget to burn any object touched by any woman during her monthly unclean period. :skip:

I dont know what gives Christians the right to feel they can pick and choose what must be condemned according to the book and what doesnt apply anymore. Other than, ya know, what society deems is still OK to declare as gross.

The Bible has was once (and is still) used to justify and/or condemn any kind of thing ever...that's why you have to read the whole thing.
Because it itself will tell you what is not "still OK".

See above.
