The history books 40 years from now will be full of historians mindblown that, "I'm not a nazi," wasn't enough for fukking idiots to not vote to prevent nazis from taking control over their government.
Giving people targets for their anger and frustrations will literally let you get away with anything. These folks got hopped up on teaching these immigrants a lesson(some of which were happily exploiting them through labor). Add in some cognitive dissonance and a swath of voters who think the best response to these folks is no response at all by not voting and you have where we are now.... :francis:

You mean, an entire generation of men raised on TikTok, that can only communicate through memes( internet memes are the lowest form of human communication )that get their news/information from lying far right grifters, are completely ignorant about history, sociology, and politics, and are easily influenced by propaganda? Yeah, we know. Sloppy kids eating slop diet daily will only be able to think in a sloppy way.

They have shyt for brains, have zero media literacy, are chronically online, and have uncritical and unconditional belief in whatever the Tik Tok algorithm says. When trump announced the restoration of TikTok on his second inauguration, I knew it was a problem. More far right propaganda crap for young sheep to consume.

They're lacking in intelligence, knowledge, perspective, abstract thinking, curiosity, and critical thinking skills, they don't read so are unable to distinguish facts from propaganda, and are brainwashed by TikTok. There is little hope with them as of now.

They’re a generation of terminally online from birth cyberbabies. They were raised on the internet/social media applications/smartphones. It means they have no real lives of their own, they just watch & comment on other people’s lives from the sidelines. I doubt Millennials in the 2000s and 2010s cared about what older people in the previous generation before them ( Gen X ) were doing at the time. They were just too busy to enjoy and live their lives. They had anxiety, social awkwardness, and depression too but at least they lived more in the present moment than zoomers. They had actual problems to worry about. They didn’t compare themselves to Gen x lol.

Younger millennials born in the 90s (so 1990-1996) are as chronically online/ dependent on smartphones/social medias as Gen z but at least they remember that their formative years (childhood and teenage years) were internet/social media/smartphone free . Social media in its modern and current form only exists since 2015-16 or so. And the use of iPhones only became ubiquitous in the early to mid 2010s. MSN messenger was created in 1999, blackplanet was created in 1999, MySpace was created in 2003, facebook was launched in 2004, Reddit and YouTube were founded in 2005, twitter was founded in 2006, Instagram was launched in 2010( but it actually became widely used and much more popular later on, like in 2013-14) twitch live streaming was introduced in 2011, Vine in 2012, Snapchat in 2014-15, TikTok in 2016. And kick ( twitch’s main competitor) in December 2022

15-20 years ago, You couldn’t be doomscrolling on Blackberry phones . You actually had to be at home sitting down on a chair to use the internet in the 2000s. When people got easy access to the internet and social media applications with their smartphones, it was the beginning of a brand new cultural, social and technological shift never seen before in human history

No matter how volatile their feelings get, I need to see them vote Democrat in 2028 for me to believe it.

Honestly with the Pepe memes and all that other shyt, you could see the writing in the wall that this generation was absolutely racist.

They are easily the closest era to Boomers when it comes to being unconditionally racist/sexist with a chip on their shoulder.

All that says is that they are very susceptible to disinformation and can have their opinion swayed in an instant.

Future gonna be ugly...

I'm not going to fault people for voting against a sitting president during an economic downturn. That happens all the time in America. But it was very interesting watching how Trump had zero responsibility in the election. He wasn't asked for specific plans, he never gave coherent answers, and perhaps most damning he literally told the entire country he was going to raise tariffs and nobody (except Kamala) pointed out that would raise prices. This is also a media problem because obsessions over fairness have extended to all facets of political conversation. You can say you want to lower prices by killing 20 million Americans and someone on CNN will say "well we need to give both sides an opportunity to make their case."

So we have media that won't talk to voters like adults. Candidates who won't debate like adults. Social media that ensures the only messaging that matters are the lies or hyperbolic shyt. We're just stacking groups of reactionary, emotional, stupid voters who veer from extreme to extreme. How does this end with a productive society that can compete with other nations that take education and media more seriously?

It doesn't.

All empires fall :yeshrug: we'll just be in decline for the foreseeable future as the rest of the world distances itself from the US.
